Questions about Application Training
Application Training at Sprachinstitut Berlin is a practice-oriented course that prepares international professionals specifically for the German application process. Over four weeks, you will learn how to create professional application documents in German and present yourself confidently in job interviews. The course takes place on Fridays from 15:00 to 18:00 and includes a total of 16 teaching units. It is aimed at anyone who wants to improve their professional opportunities in the German job market.
To take part in Application Training, you need German skills at B1 level or above. This language level ensures that you can follow the course content and actively participate in exercises. If you are unsure of your current level, you can use our free placement test. If you want to improve your language level first, we recommend our intensive course.
Application Training covers all key parts of the German application process. You will learn how to create a professional CV according to German standards and how to write convincing cover letters. In addition, you will practise interviews in realistic scenarios and receive individual feedback on your performance. Another important component is online applications, as many companies in Germany use digital application portals.
The course is spread across four modules of one week each and takes place on Fridays from 15:00 to 18:00. In total, the training includes 16 teaching units, giving you enough time to work through all topics thoroughly and practise them in a practical way. The weekly rhythm allows you to apply what you have learned directly between sessions and improve your application documents step by step.
Application Training is designed especially for international professionals who want to apply for jobs in the German labour market. If you already have professional qualifications but are not yet familiar with German application standards, you will benefit particularly from this course. People already living in Germany who want to optimise their application strategy are also very welcome. Group sizes of 4 to 12 participants create a personal learning atmosphere with enough room for individual feedback.
Group size in Application Training is between 8 and 12 participants. This deliberately small number allows teachers to respond to each participant’s individual needs and provide targeted feedback. This personal support is particularly valuable when reviewing CVs and cover letters and practising job interviews. This way, you can be sure that your application documents meet German standards.
Yes, individual feedback is a central part of Application Training. Your teacher reviews your CV and cover letter personally and gives you concrete suggestions for improvement. You will also receive detailed feedback on content, language and presentation during interview simulations. If you would like even more intensive support, we also offer one-to-one lessons, where you can develop your application strategy individually.
Yes, online applications are a fixed part of Application Training. Many German companies use digital application portals, and the course prepares you specifically for this. You will learn how to optimise your documents for online platforms and what to pay attention to in digital application processes. This practical approach ensures that you are prepared for all common application routes in Germany.
Application Training takes place on Fridays from 15:00 to 18:00 and can therefore be combined well with other course formats. If you also want to improve your general German skills, for example, a combination with an intensive course, which takes place on the other weekdays, is recommended. Our Business German course is also a useful addition to build your professional language skills more comprehensively.
While a Business German course teaches general professional language skills such as business correspondence, meetings and negotiations, Application Training focuses specifically on the application process. You work exclusively on CVs, cover letters, interviews and online applications – everything you need for a successful application in German. The course is particularly practice-oriented and tailored to the needs of international professionals actively looking for a job in Germany.
Application Training is not a classic language course aimed at a specific CEFR level, but a practical training course to improve your application skills in German. You will expand your job-related vocabulary, improve your written expression for application documents and gain confidence in spoken expression for interviews. If you also want to raise your general language level, we recommend combining it with an intensive course.
