Why a Korean weekend course?

The weekend course concentrates the lessons on Saturday: you learn Korean in compact sessions without the course clashing with work, university or family during the week. In small groups of 4 to 12 participants there is still plenty of time for active speaking – and over eight weeks you build up your level in a structured, lasting way.

Korean Weekend Course

Korean Weekend Course for Beginners and Advanced Learners

Whether it's K-pop lyrics, K-dramas without subtitles, or a trip to Seoul – Korean opens the door to one of Asia's most exciting cultures. From your very first lesson, you'll learn the Hangul alphabet, the polite speech styles, and Korean sentence structure step by step. From A1 to C2, we guide you systematically along the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) all the way to near-native command of Korean.

Korean Weekend Course

A1

A1 – Beginner

Absolute beginners with no prior knowledge who want to learn Korean from scratch – perhaps out of enthusiasm for K-pop, K-dramas, or an upcoming trip to Korea.

You begin with the Korean Hangul alphabet and learn to read and write its vowels and consonants confidently – including the final consonants (batchim). From the very start, you practise the polite 해요 form as well as the basic topic particles 은/는 and subject particles 이/가. You'll understand Korean SOV word order (subject–object–verb) and introduce yourself in simple sentences. You'll also master first everyday situations such as greeting, counting, and ordering in Korean.

What you will learn:

  • Read and write the complete Hangul alphabet, including final consonants (batchim) and the pronunciation rules for consonant clusters
  • Introduce yourself in the polite 해요 form and build simple statements and questions (저는 …이에요/예요)
  • Attach and distinguish the topic and subject particles 은/는 and 이/가 correctly
  • Apply Korean SOV word order and form simple sentences using the object particle 을/를
  • Distinguish Sino-Korean from native Korean numbers and use them for time, prices, and quantities
