Why a Italian weekend course?

The weekend course concentrates the lessons on Saturday: you learn Italian in compact sessions without the course clashing with work, university or family during the week. In small groups of 4 to 12 participants there is still plenty of time for active speaking – and over eight weeks you build up your level in a structured, lasting way.

Italian Weekend Course

Italian Weekend Course for Beginners and Advanced Learners

Italian is a language of melody — built on open and closed vowels, ringing double consonants, and sounds like gli, gn and sce that give it its unmistakable music. Our Italian courses guide you from your very first "ciao" to a confident command of the congiuntivo, structured around the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (A1–C2). Each stage builds deliberately on the last, so that your pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary grow securely, step by step.

Italian Weekend Course

A1

A1 – Beginner

For anyone starting Italian from scratch, with no prior knowledge.

At level A1 you lay the sound foundations of Italian: you learn the seven vowels with their open and closed qualities and practise the characteristic clusters gli, gn and sce correctly from the very start. You grasp the difference between il, lo and la and form your first regular verbs in -are, -ere and -ire in the present tense. Using essere and avere, you introduce yourself, share everyday information and handle simple greetings such as "buongiorno" and "ciao". From the first lesson you attune your ear to the melodic intonation and the double consonants (doppie) that give Italian its rhythm.

What you will learn:

  • Pronounce the seven vowels, the clusters gli, gn, sce/sci and double consonants (doppie) correctly
  • Choose the right definite article — il, lo, la, i, gli, le — according to gender and initial sound
  • Conjugate regular -are, -ere and -ire verbs plus essere and avere in the present tense
  • Introduce yourself, ask how someone is and use everyday greeting formulas appropriately
  • Understand and express numbers, the time and basic everyday information in short sentences
