The Key to Professional Success in Germany
Working in Germany requires more than everyday German. Emails to colleagues, small talk in the break room, proper conduct in meetings – all of this follows unwritten rules that textbooks don't cover.
Our "German for Business" course bridges exactly this gap: You'll learn to navigate the German work environment confidently and professionally – from your first email to after-work conversations. For foundational language development, we recommend our German intensive course. For those working on their job applications, our application training is the perfect complement.

The curriculum includes professional email correspondence, confident telephone communication, small talk with colleagues and business partners, as well as active participation in meetings. In addition, you will develop negotiation language and learn how to deliver convincing presentations in German. This will make you more confident and persuasive in all typical workplace communication situations.
The course is aimed at international professionals who already have German skills at at least A2 level and want to develop them specifically for a professional context. Whether you are new to a German-speaking company or want to professionalise your existing language skills, the course meets you where you are. If you are unsure of your level, you can take our free placement test in advance.
The Business German course is offered at two levels: B1/B2 and B2/C1. This ensures that you learn in a group that matches your current level. To participate, you need at least a completed A2 level. If you are unsure of your exact level, use our free placement test to find the right group.
The Business German course runs for 8 weeks and takes place once a week on Wednesdays from 18:15 to 20:15. In total, the course includes 16 teaching units (UE). This format is deliberately designed so it can be combined optimally with full-time work – you can come directly after work without having to reorganise your working day.
The curriculum covers six key areas of professional communication. You will learn how to write professional emails, handle phone calls confidently and use small talk as a networking tool. In addition, you will practise contributing actively in meetings, arguing persuasively in negotiations and delivering structured, effective presentations in German. Every topic is trained in a practical way using realistic scenarios from German business life.
Yes, combining courses is highly recommended if you want to make faster progress. Many participants attend an intensive course in parallel to improve their general German skills, and use the Business German course as a professional supplement. If you want to train specific workplace situations even more individually, our one-to-one lessons are also a good option and can be tailored flexibly to your personal goals.
Yes, we also offer Business German as a tailored company course. In this format, we adapt content, schedule and focus areas individually to the needs of your company and employees. Whether it is industry-specific vocabulary, internal communication culture or concrete business processes – a company course is designed around your team’s requirements. Feel free to contact us for a non-binding offer.
In the email module, you will learn typical phrasing, forms of address and structures used in German business correspondence – from polite enquiries to diplomatic complaints. In telephone training, you practise opening calls professionally, communicating information clearly, asking follow-up questions and ending calls confidently. Both areas are trained with practical role plays and authentic examples so you can apply what you learn directly at work.
The Business German course focuses on ongoing professional communication – emails, meetings, calls, negotiations and presentations in day-to-day working life. Application Training, by contrast, prepares you specifically for the application process, such as cover letters, CVs and interviews. Depending on your current situation, both courses can be useful: Application Training for getting started and the Business German course for confident professional communication afterwards.
You can find current start dates and available levels further up on this page or on our Course Dates page. Since the course follows a fixed 8-week cycle, new groups start regularly. We recommend registering early, as places are limited to ensure an optimal learning environment in small groups. If you have questions about course planning, we are always happy to help.
